The Corner
The aptly named luxury rental tower is tucked corner side of 72nd and Broadway in a classic New York City neighborhood. Gotham’s vertically integrated team developed, built, marketed and manages this 250,000 square-feet, 19-story structure with 196 units. As one of the most energetic pedestrian corridors in the city, the project also incorporates 4 stories of retail that includes Trader Joe’s, Bank of America and Duane Reade. Adjacent to the West 72nd Street subway station, The Corner is unrivalled in location, convenience, and amenity and finish package.
Just a block from Verdi Square and the historic landmark, the Ansonia, the building showcases a stylish mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment plus premier studio rental and alcove studios. A rooftop residents’ terrace with misting wall was designed for Manhattan’s sultry summers. The most stunning building feature is an eighty-percent window wall that has a peeled-back cascading effect, with 16 private terraces along its lowest level—an architectural element that lends depth and interest.
Gotham conceived this LEED-Silver certified building with sustainable features that include low-e glass for extremely low reflectivity and low-light landscaping that uses 54% less potable water. Adding to the project’s allure are amenities and common spaces that add the element of discovery – from the 1700 individual crystals used to create the undulating lobby chandelier, and the intricate pattern of the travertine lobby floors to the artisan embellishments such as the custom designed door knocker and corridor light fixture. While the exterior architecture achieves an ethereal quality in elevating light within the building, the interiors are rooted in authenticity and grounded sensibility.
