The Foundry

The Foundry includes two rental apartment buildings for a grand total of 222 units along 10th Avenue. The 12-story building is on the corner of 54th Street, and a six-story building sits mid-block on W. 55th Street. The buildings are connected by a landscaped garden. The 54th Street mixed-use building has apartments on floors three to 12 with 14,000 square feet of retail space, a parking garage, gym and lounge and sun terrace. Both buildings are concrete superstructures with masonry exterior walls.

Gotham took great care with the design aesthetic and construction that included a sophisticated multi-layered lobby in the main building with a 20-foot tiered ceiling and floating and sub-floors that juxtapose diametric materials. A floating terrazzo floor blends seamlessly into the lobby furniture and concierge desk. The sub-floor gives residents and guests the illusion of sandblasted aggregate stone rising vertically onto the south wall to form a cascading water wall.
